Characterization Laboratories Center - Ilse Katz Institute for Nanoscale Science & Technology's material characterization facility
Building 51
+972-8-6428643 The Characterization Laboratories Center serves as a supporting center for innovation and excellence in research by providing the researchers with the up to date technologies and state-of-the-art infrastructure for characterization analysis. The center’s capabilities include a JEOL 2100F high resolution field emission Transmission Electron Microscope (TEM) with analytical instrumentation directly suited to structural and chemical analysis of nanoparticle and nanostructures, a Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM), a Dimension 3100 Scanning Probe Microscope (SPM) with Nanoscope 4 controller and an electrochemical cell for in situ electrochemical characterization, and a LabRam HR Raman system for high resolution analysis of bioelectronic interfaces. The equipment is operated by professional operators and supervised by an IKI faculty member. Click here to go to the Characterization Laboratories Center website |

Our group uses the Characterization Laboratories Center on a regular basis for both structural and analytical microscopy in TEM and SEM.
The Nano-Fabrication Center - Ilse Katz Institute for Nanoscale Science & Technology's clean room fabrication facility
Building 51
+972-8-6428427 The Nano-Fabrication Center (Nano FAB) includes 3 fabrication areas with class 100 to 10000 and two Nanolab (device diagnostic & characterization, and nanolab for packaging). It includes an extensive array of tools for physical and chemical deposition, oxidation/annealing/diffusion, wet and dry etching, lithography, wafer bonding, planarization, characterization, and testing. The complex incorporates state-of-the-art R&D and prototype fabrication infrastructure for Nano/Microelectronics, BioMEMS, BioChip, Microfluidcs, Multielectrode array, Nanophotonics and Optoelectronics and Nano/Micro systems. Nano FAB is operated as a shared user facility by IKI staff. Click here to go to the Nano-Fabrication Center website |
We make extensive use of the state-of-art micro- and nano-fabrication facilities and associated metrology capability in the Nano-Fabrication Center. This includes creation of microfluidic systems for our bioMEMS research, nanostructure arrays for device configuration and testing, and standard test sites for electrical measurements of thin film materials.
