Dr. Remi Cazelles

Rémi Cazelles is a Postdoctoral student in the Department of Biomedical Engineering at Ben-Gurion University of the Negev. He received his PhD in chemistry from the École Nationale Supérieure de Chimie de Montpellier (ENSCM, 2013) and pursue his specialization in electro-chemistry at the Max Planck Institute of Colloids and Interfaces and nano-technologies at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. Rémi has been awarded a Marcus Postdoctoral Fellowships in Water Sciences Program, his research aims to develop in-field water quality analytical platform with cost effective nanostructured electrochemical sensor array in order to monitor redox fingerprint of pollutant in water samples.

Sudheesh K. Shukla is a Post-Doctoral Research Fellow at in the Department of Biomedical Engineering at Ben-Gurion University of the Negev. His present research work focus on stimuli encoded polymeric and 2D based nanobioreactors for novel biosensors fabrication. He has extensive experience in polymer chemistry (polymer design, synthesis and characterization), nanocomposite synthesis, nanobiotechnology, catalysis science and biosensor/sensor. Dr. Shukla has visiting research fellow position at Biosensors and Bioelectronics centre IFM- Linköping Universitet, Sweden and University of Johannesburg, South Africa. He is the managing editor of the Advanced Materials book series that is published by Scrivener Publishing and co-published with John Wiley & Sons. Dr. Shukla is also engaged as associate editor for International Journal of Advanced Engineering & Global Technology and consulting editor for Reports in electrochemistry.

Dr. Sudheesh K. Shukla

Dr. Crystal Rapier is a Postdoctoral student and a Zuckerman Scholar in the Biomedical Engineering Department at Ben-Gurion University of the Negev.  She received her Master’s and PhD degrees in Biomedical Engineering from the University of California Irvine.  She received her Bachelor’s degree in Microbiology from the University of Georgia.  Dr. Rapier has been awarded numerous scholarships, fellowships, and memberships many of which were received from the National Science Foundation (NSF), National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA), National Institutes of Health (NIH), and the US Department of Education (ED).  Among several positions, Dr. Rapier has worked as an Adjunct Professor of Biology and Microbiology, a Project Manager and Development Engineer for the California Institute of Telecommunications and Information Technology, and a MEMs (Microelectromechanical Systems) Engineer for Metronom Health.  Dr. Rapier’s current research focus is the fabrication of a personalized blood brain barrier-on-Chip device that could biologically mimic the human blood brain barrier and recapitulate neurological disorders. Moreover, the device can serve as a platform for testing therapeutics and measuring tissue response in real-time with the addition of integrated sensors.

Dr. Murugaiya Sridar Ilango is a Postdoctoral student work with Prof. Hadar Ben-Yoav at the Department of Biomedical Engineering, Ben Gurion University of the Negev. He was a Postdoctoral researcher at Centre for Nanoscience and Engineering, Indian Institute of Science, India, from June 2017 to August 2021 at Prof. Navakanta Bhat research group (MOX gas sensors) as a Research Associate. Murugaiya Sridar received his Ph.D. from Jain University, Bangalore, India, in 2018 (Supervisor: Dr. Sheela K Ramasesha, Divecha centre for Climate change, Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore). His doctoral research was on developing a Textured fabrication of Cadmium sulphide/ Cadmium telluride thin film Photovoltaic cell with back contacts. Murugaiya Sridar published 10 international peer-reviewed articles and conferences. His current research focuses on the development of modified microelectrode system with different electro- catalytic materials and showing its applications in the discipline of biomedical. This device will   help in developing a point of care electrochemical sensor.

Rajendra Prasad Shukla is a PhD student in the Department of Biomedical Engineering at Ben-Gurion University of the Negev. He received his B.Tech. (Bachelor of Technology-2012) from F.E.T. Agra College Agra with specialization in Electronics & Communication Engineering and M.E.(Master in Engineering-2014) in Microelectronics from BITS Pilani University, India. Rajendra has been a research scholar in CEN (Center of excellence in Nanoelectronics) at Indian Institute of Technology Bombay and R&D Engineer in CeNS (Center for Nano and Soft Matter Science) Banglore, India. His present research focuses on the design and fabrication of 2D material for novel biosensors in health monitoring.

​​Vikas Kumar Shukla is a Ph.D. student in the Department of Biomedical Engineering at Ben-Gurion University of the Negev. He has completed his Master of Science (M.Sc. 2016-18) in Chemistry from Vellore Institute of Technology, India and Bachelor of Science (B.Sc. 2013-16) in Mathematics from University of Allahabad, India. During Master’s, he worked in Nano and bioelectrochemistry research laboratory, VIT, India. Vikas also worked in Bhabha Atomic Research Centre, Mumbai on Ultra trace determination of radioactive elements. His present research work focuses on inventing the next generation of intelligent micro-sensors for precision medicine.

Shani completed her undergrad studies in the same department. Her research focuses on developing a multi-electrode array using microfluidic techniques for Blood-Brain-Barrier investigations.

Matan is graduate student in the Department of Biomedical Engineering at Ben-Gurion University of the Negev. He served in ''Rimon" unit at the commando brigade as an officer and still serving there in reserves. Matan loves sports, scuba diving & traveling and take part in the tennis team of BGU. In addition, Matan & Hadar Established the "BioMed-Tech BGU" community in the Department of Biomedical Engineering. Matan's final project reward "Excellent final project" and "best poster" reward on israelectrochemistry 2019 conference. His research focuses on developing and testing a novel intelligent array of microelectrodes for schizophrenia treatment monitoring.

Teddy Zagardan is a M.Sc. student in the Biomedical engineering department. He complited his B.Sc. degree (2018) in Biomedical Engineering at Ben-Gurion university of the Negev.
Teddy's research focuses on developing an electrochemical sensor that will be able to monitor various neurotransmitters and using chemometrics methods to analyze the recorded electrochemical signals.

Anat is pursuing her M.Sc. in Biomedical Engineering. She completed her B.Sc. (2017) in the department of Communication Systems Engineering at  Ben-Gurion University of the Negev. Her research focuses on developing an electrochemical biosensor that measures the complex signal's pattern obtained from urine in order to diagnose various types of cancer. She uses the recorded electrochemical signals to develop a model for medical classification, applying pattern recognition algorithms.

Jonathan Zorea is an M.Sc. student in the Life Science department at Ben Gurion University and is co-supervised with Dr. Moshe Elkabets. Jonathan received his B.Sc. degree in the Hebrew University. His research focus on understanding the resistance mechanism of Ovarian Cancer and on trying to find a way to overcome it.

​Alon is a 1st year M.Sc. student in the Department of Biomedical Engineering at Ben-Gurion University of the Negev. He served in the military intelligence unit taking part in several roles, including as a commander. Alon loves sport, traveling and never gets tired of seeing the world. Alon's research focuses on developing an electrochemical biosensor that will be implanted in the brain and will be monitoring various neurotransmitters. As part of his research he uses machine learning algorithms to analyze the recorded electrochemical signals.

​Yarden is 26 years old, originally from Kiryat Shmona. In her army service she volunteered for 3 years in a combat unit of the artillery corps. She is BSc, 4th year student in the department of  Material Engineering  at Ben Gurion University. She is interested in promoting healthcare through science. 
In her engineering project she inspects a new material meant to be used for coating a sensor of schizophrenia treatment using electrochemical methods. ​
